No matter how unpleasant the 30 minute task may be, there really isn’t any reason you can’t spend the 30 minutes if you have a fun reward waiting for you at the end. It’s when you segment your day like this, you may find that you can continue for greater than 30 minutes at a stretch but don’t go for more than an hour without taking at least a short break.
A lack of motivation is another common reason for people to experience procrastination. We have all experienced a temporary laziness at times but a chronic low motivation speaks to things that are deeper and more troublesome.
People who suffer from a lack of motivation need to find their purpose. An inspiring purpose for action will help to improve motivation and therefore decrease procrastination. But, like all of the other strategies, it may be simply stated but challenging to achieve.
People who suffer from procrastination can change their fate through a bit of hard work and some outside help. Never overlook the potential for help from a good counselor or psychologist who can help you identify the root cause of the procrastination and develop strategies to overcome them.
